Artificial Neural Networks.
A rapidly growing trend in Machine Learning where the target functions are incredibly complex, and the data sets equally large, deep learning neural networks are faster and more accurate than ever before.
Deep Learning is the application of Neural Networks with many hidden layers, working much like a human brain. The depth of these neural networks allow them to construct increasingly abstracted feature hierarchies, each subsequent layer acting as filters for more complex features in other layers.
Because they can "learn" by working with unsupervised data (which constitutes the majority of data in the world) deep neural networks can become more accurate than traditional machine learning algorithms that are unable to handle unsupervised data.
